Song of Nature - Babling Brooks - Indian Instrumental

Myhindupage.org Review
This is a rare Indian instrumental album that showcases an acoustic guitar modified to play like a veena or sitar and played to Indian raagas by Pundit Vishwamohan Bhatt. Check out the samples, they are nice as background music to set the mood for a reflective evening.

Sleeping on the Edge of the World by David Helping

MyHinduPage.org Review
This album is great for contemplative thinking. I use the music in this album whenever I am contemplating a subject or planning for the future. The deep chords of the synth and great choice of instruments and rhythm sets this album apart for meditators and those who love deep contemplation. For me it is a great tool. Individual MP3 of the tracks available on Amazon.com.

Review by Adam on Amazon.com
The title, Sleeping on the Edge of the World, sets the mood and the first track, "Rain Falls," begins floating, but soon carries the melody through the energizing piece. The whole album sifts between floating and racing as the pieces carry the listener into the wonderment of melodies and rhythms. It's a powerful album that is more energetic than ambient space music, but defines an atmosphere of power and rest. The wonderful tracks such as "Deepest Days" define the energy of movement while the tracks such as "Shadows of Far Night" expand into a powerful energy which iminates glory. I have listened to this album five times in one week and still find new sounds. Helpling has offered a strong and uplifting album.

Eternal Om - Chanting by Yogi Hari

Review by MyHinduPage.org
Yogi Hari's compedium of audio publications are soothing and tailored to evoke devotional feelings and spiritual consciousness in the listener. This audio CD which is available as individual mp3 downloads is a drone of the primal mantra Aum. Such an audio presentation is rare, but for those who meditate, especially to use as an aid for deep concentration of dharana techniques such an aid is useful. The Aum mantra itself is soothing to the emotions and relaxes the mind, so it is great to use any of these Aum sound files as background music for the home or yoga studio to inspire spirituality.

Review by Quantum Key on Amazon.com
I was looking for a non-obtrusive, mellow CD to use for deep meditation. I have several that have beautiful music, but I wanted something very constant and resonant. That is exactly what this CD is, and it is absolutely perfect for deep meditation.

The CD has 3 different tracks, which at first, I thought it was a little silly, as initially they all sound the same. But after listening to all 3 of them, it is clear that there are subtle differences in each of them, and each has its own "feel" to it. They are also of varying lengths - first one is approx 30 mins, great for a longer meditation, second one is approx 15 minutes, perfect for my morning meditation, and the last track is about 20 mins, an in-between time. And upon listening, they are not entirely monotonous, as the yogi does hit higher and lower notes, and fluctuates the style of the scales he uses.

If you are an avid meditator, or even just a beginner looking to enter some deeper states of consciousness, this CD is a great tool - highly recommended.

Vedic Chanting: Sri Rudram, Purusha Suktham, Mantra Pushpam & more

Review by MyHinduPage.org
If you love the mystical ambiance that sanskrit chanting creates, this audio MP3 download from Amazon.com is excellent. The mantras it covers are among the most ancient Vedic collections, namely Sri Rudram, Purusha Suktham, Mantra Pushpam and Sri Suktam. These mantras are among the most widely used for Vedic ceremonies. Just listening to them will bring you into mystical consciousness. If you are a scholar or enthusiast of sanskrit chanting and have some background in sanskrit chanting these audio files will be just the things you need to help you master these chants. The chants are chanted slow enough for students to chant along. The chants in this album follow the precise chanting style of South Indian temple priests. At only US $6.99 it is a great resource to have in your mobile device or your computer. You take the hallow spaces of South Indian temples along with you everywhere you go. Samples are available on Amazon.com.

Kirtan! The Art and Practice of Ecstatic Chant

Product Description on Amazon.com
"Kirtan is the calling, the crying, the reaching across infinite space—and digging into the heart’s deepest well—to touch and be touched by the Divine Presence," teaches world music pioneer Jai Uttal. On Kirtan! The Art and Practice of Ecstatic Chant, Jai guides listeners through the practice of Kirtan—singing the many names of God and Goddess—an essential part of Bhakti yoga, or the yoga of devotion. This sacred music form is for all people; there are no experts, nor beginners, and the practice itself is the teacher, guiding us to ourselves. Listeners join Jai Uttal to explore: the power of ancient Sanskrit syllables in chant to invoke the Divine, how to open the voice and learn to love the sound that comes from our bodies, more than two hours of music recorded by Jai Uttal to commune with the Divine through sacred chant, and the path of Bhakti and Kirtan, the journey of surrender, and much more.

Review on Amazon.com by "Spread the Word" Jamia
I would give this CD 10 stars if I could. I listen when I paint, cook, relax, drive, anything. It is inspiring and makes me feel actually "closer" to spirit. His voice and talent are
gifts from God. Highly recommended. My 5 and 11 year old even love it.

Mystery Road by Kamal

MyHinduPage.org Review. Almost all the music in this CD inspires me. I use it when I am dreaming of the future. The earthy and airy sounds of the instruments, albeit electrical simulations, does the trick to get me into the anahatha chakra for pondering future projects. Especially track 1. African Papillon, 2. Shakuhaji Tales and 5. Ripples

"Mystery Road takes you on a beautiful, exotic journey. Each song reflects a different culture and leaves you feeling welcome in each. Warm, rich sounds, worthy of your undivided attention, yet wonderful for listening during quite times."
Susan W. Cooke, Yoga Practitioner
